Spring Break!

Its spring break! And it has been FOR-EV-ER since I have updated my blog, so I will update it now while I have the time :]] Alright, so much has happened since my last post, so just to warn ya there will be a lot of pictures and I will try not to ramble :]]

As most of you know I am in the Elementary Education Program at UVU, I am a second semester junior and am proud to announce that I have received an internship for the following school year! Thats right peeps next year I will be a full time 2nd grade teacher at Butterfield Elementary, I am so stoked. As an intern I will have my own classroom (with no supervising teacher) and will receive half salary. Pretty cool right? It was a nerve racking process, I had to turn in an application and interview with Jordan School District which was pretty intimidating. A huge shout out and thank you are in order to the lovely Carolyn Hirz, my cute Gare, and my family for being so supportive and helpful :]] After I got the call that I got the internship Gare took me to celebrate to my all time fav Olive Garden.

In other big news Derek is home! He has been gone for like three months on vaca in Europe the little stinker. We were glad to have him home and to be able to spend time with him.

And now for some sad news, I crashed my cute car Bridgett :[[ I was confused getting off the freeway and didn't know where I was going and crashed into the cement barrier. I know, I know, I am an idiot :[[ good think I was the only one involved and for insurance. Bridgett is in the shop gettin fixed, I miss her dearly.

Christmas in Washington

This year we got to spend Christmas with the Kofoed's in Washington! We got to spend a whopping 11 days there!  We flew in to Spokane on the 22nd, and of course we had to have lunch at the famous Dicks, haha Gare loves it.  Then we we headed to good ol' Moses Lake, where we began to help set up for Kamille and Ben's wedding! We were so happy that we got to be there with them on their special day, Kamille looked beautiful :]] We spent the rest of our trip just hanging out with family all of Garett's siblings were able to be there with their families as well (except for Derek, lil' stinker). We had so much fun, and had a nice relaxing christmas :]] I feel so blessed to have such great in-laws, and am so glad we got to spend this Christmas together.  Here are a few pictures of our trip!

26!

Happy birthday to this guy. . .

Dang he is gettin' old! Gares birthday was on Thanksgiving this year, so that was kinda fun. He definitely got a good birthday meal :]] Gare loves movies so we saw the 10 o'clock showing of Immortals with Keith and Derek. The movie was actually pretty good, it was a 300ish type movie.  And of course we had to celebrate at Texas Roadhouse, his favorite restaurant. We went there on Saturday with the Hirzes and Derek, it was delish. We also saw The Muppets on Saturday, I didn't enjoy it but Gare thought it was fun :]] Remember how Gare has a new BBQ obsession? Well he spent the whole week preparing to "smoke" a turkey for Thanksgiving/his birthday. Haha it was a little crazy but he is a stud and of course his "smoked turkey" was delish and was a big hit at grandmas! Well I sure do love this boy, I am glad we both had time off from school and work, we were able to spend his whole birthday week together :]]

Hello again. . .

Welp, I have been slackin' with the blog :/ Oops. Oh well I am here now and am ready to document what has been going on in our busy little lives :]] We are still supper busy with school and work. I just started my "field experience" which is like mini student teaching. My partner and I are in a 5th grade class at Barrett Elementary. So far it has been great! The students love us and we have a great supervising teacher.  Gare is still working at the group home, going to class at the UofU 2 days a week and is doing his practicum at an alternative high school 2 days out of the week, he is the "intern counselor" he loves it. Gare also has a new obsession, he got an "early birthday present" from my mom cause he is spoiled. He has had his eye on this weber grill for months and when it went on sale he couldn't take it anymore and bought the thing, haha my mom reimburse him the money and said it could be his birthday present. What a nice mother-in-law :]] Anyway Gare has been BBQing up a storm, and let me tell you it is tasty. So far he has made pulled pork, ribs, chicken, burgers, corn, asparagus, and steak. He is so cute :]] Here is a picture of his beloved bbq...

I also have a new obsession, her name is Charlotte, but I call her Lottie for short. She is my new MacBook Pro, and we are best of friends. She is beautiful and can do amazing things. She helps me with my homework and keeps me entertained! Here is what she looks like in her lovely "peacock" case :]] Yes I know I am a dork haha.

We have also been having a blast at my brother's hockey games! It is so fun to watch him play. One of his last games was against Utah State, they are ranked #1 so it was a pretty big game. It was so crazy!! Fights were breakin' out all over the place. Towards the very end of the game every single player was out on the ice in a massive brawl, even the goalies! Haha it was insane, we lost but it was still a good game :]]

I have also been doing a lot of reading I am almost done with "The Pretty Little Liars" series I am more than half way done with the last book! I love them, I also stumbled upon this book the other day in the library. . .

It is hysterical! I can't put it down! I have been cooped up in the house for 3 days with bronchitis, so I am very happy that I have this book by my side :]] It is so funny people, and very interesting to see what life is like for a young single mormon living in Manhattan. I love it!  Oh, remember how I mention that I have been cooped up in this tiny basement apartment for three days? Well last night I couldn't take it anymore and made Garett take me to Joannes. Gare's blanket that I made for him over a year ago is kinda disgusting so I wanted to make him a new one. Well like always I left Joannes with more than I came in for. I ended up with a new blanket for Gare. . . and for me :]] Look how cute . . .

Girls Trip

Last weekend we made a little girls trip up to the condo in St George! My mom and I went with our family friends Tonya, Pooney, Sharon, Lindsay, and Janet :]] We had a blast we went down to see Grease at the Tuacahn, I loved it they did such a good job with it and everyone knows I am a sucker for plays and musicals ;]] We also had a couple late nights with some fun games and movies. And thanks to my wonderful mom amazing food was provided she made us breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day she earned the name "momma Tammy" from everyone. I had so much fun it was nice getting to know these girls more and just get a way for the weekend. I even came home to a "surprise" from my sweet husband, a sewing kit from IKEA! He is so cute. Labor Day Weekend

My wonderful family spent Labor Day weekend at our cabin in Brighton! It was so much fun, I haven't been to the cabin in years. It was fun to show Garett around and tell him about all of the memories I have of being with family at the cabin. We made so many more memories over the weekend. . . .

I also brought all of my glitter toe supplies, and my mom and I gave all the girls in the fam cute glitter toes! The cabin was very sparkly when we were finished :]] We also had a lot of fun sitting around the campfire makin' smores and lounging around the cabin with crazy cousins. "Did you know that Keri got asked to high school dances?!", and don't forget Stacy's "pee-pants" :]]

On our last night up there we thought it would be fun to take the kids "snipe hunting". It was hilarious. We had them banging on plates and doing the "snipe call" and everything. My cute dad got in on the action and totally had the kids believing it! He is such a good story teller, he was even rolling around in the bushes trying to catch those blasted snipes! We didn't catch any this time they all got away, one even ripped its way out of the bag we were using to try and catch them with! When we were done with our hunt every lil' cousin said that they saw one!

Goodbye Summer

Welp it is official Garett and I are back to school and work full time, and the summer is at its end. I had a really great first week back to work, my student is doing amazing thus far! I start classes on Monday, I am gonna work super hard this semester :]] We spent this weekend with my family because my papa was in town! I also went to the pool one last time with my best friend Megan! Goodbye summer :/ I have to day that I might be looking forward to fall weather and clothes though ;]]

Happy Anniversary!

I can't believe we have been married for a year! It has gone by so fast, and I have loved every adventure with Gare thus far. To celebrate our first anniversary we stayed a night at the cute little bed and breakfast we stayed at on our wedding night called The Castle Creek Inn. We had a blast and it brought back so many memories of our wedding day. We stayed the night on the 15th and then for our real anniversary we spent the day in Park City (where we honeymooned), and ate dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak house! It was delish, seriously my favorite place to eat and worth every penny. I love Garett so very much, I am one lucky girl to have found him. I love his sweet tender heart and his goofy personality. I can't wait for the years to come with my best friend :]]

The Zoo

On Wednesday the gang decided to venture to the Hogle Zoo! We had fun, I haven't been to the zoo for a long time. We chose like the perfect day, it was mostly over cast all day and so nice :]] Here we are. . .

It was fun to be with the Hirzes and the Law's, especially because Deidra and David are leaving us so soon! We will miss them :[[ Some of the highlights were the elephant show, the bird show, the cool dinosaurs they have around the park, and my favorite the giraffes! The bird show was so cool! I kept thinking about my mom and how much she would be freaking out if she were there haha, and how one time we went to the zoo with my cousin Lizzy and a bird pooped on her head! Oh, and can I just say that giraffes are so strange! They look like aliens or something, but they are like so regal and majestic. They freak me out, they are so cool!

I am 21!

 

I am finally 21! Look at that cute cake my sweet Gare made me :]] I had such a good birthday! I skipped class and had lunch with G, then we came home and decorated my cute princess cake, then we went to dinner with my mom, dad, Cade, and Ali, then went and had cake and ice cream with the whole family! Oh and I also got some pretty sweet presents. Gare gave me a cute new purse from Target (after he gave it to me he made me throw away 2 old purses) I might have slight addiction. My mom and dad gave me this really nifty wallet, I love it! The Hirzes gave me a cute bamboo plant from Ikea (every time I go to Ikea I always want one). And then I got some money from the rest of the family, oh and a gift card to JoAnn's! I am one lucky girl, that's for sure! Check this out. . .

Haha after our family party Gare and I thought it would be funny to go buy some beer for my dad, since I just turned 21 and all. So we went to Walmart and got some but then the lady at the check out didn't even card me! That sort of took all the fun out of it, I guess I just look really old or something? Oh, and I also bought some CTR stickers for my primary class :]] I promise I am a good Mormon! Haha, I had fun and I am so glad I got to spend my birthday with the people I love most!

Fight like a girl!

This week when the ladies on my mom's side of the family got together for lunch we all surprised my Aunt Sue who had just been diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer by wearing shirts that support ovarian cancer patients. Each cancer awareness has a different color and slogan, ovarian is teal and the slogan is "fight like a girl" we love it! We love Suzie, and are so glad that they caught the cancer early! She just went through her first round of chemo and is doing great, she is such a trooper! She is truly fighting like a girl!

Hello Friends!

Hello! It has been such a lovely day! My amazing mom did my hair today, now it is pretty and I even got some feathers! I also have been hanging out with my love. We started to watch the Harry Potters, we want to watch them all before the midnight show! Whoo we are excited <3 HP! I also made a skirt today! I followed THIS tutorial, it turned out cute, I will post pictures of all the stuff I have been making soon :]] Then Gare and I went to dinner and to Winco and when we were walking out to our car we saw this beauty. . .

We also saw the new Transformers yesterday! I really liked it, it was way better than the second one. Gare was upset that the new chick in the movie was wearing her high heals through all of the action scenes, and that her white shirt stayed perfect the whole time haha, I didn't even notice he is a goofball :]] Anyway, it was still a good fun movie. Happy 4th of July every one! I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend! We sure did, Gare and I did some BBQing with the Hirzes and went to see the Stadium of Fire fireworks! They were awesome and we even got a whole game of Phase 10 in while we were waiting for the show! Today we had a lovely picnic in the park before Gare had to go to work. Then I headed to Salt Lake to spend the rest of the day with my family! I have also been singing "My Country Tis of Thee" the whole weekend haha!

I found this lil' quote and laughed because it is so true! Just today we were talking about how I always used to get stuff stuck in my hair or get it tangled up in something and my mom would always send me to my dad to fix it :]] I also remember having so much fun on Saturdays with my brother and dad, we would do all sorts of crazy stuff that might have consisted of eating ice cream for breakfast! My dad is the best most sweet and funny man around and I am one lucky girl to have him as my pa :]] Love you dad!

Lagoon!

The wonderful Deidra and David Law took us to lagoon this week! We all went along with Brent and Carolyn and we had a blast! It was a perfect day to go, the weather was just right and it was a Tuesday so the crowd wasn't too bad.  Deidra and Dave have never been before so it was fun showing them around the park, it brought back lots of memories from when we used to have our family reunions there. The only down side was we didn't get to go on the new ride :[[ It was temporarily closed. Oh well everything else was fun. Here are some funny pictures. . . .
