Spring Break!

Its spring break! And it has been FOR-EV-ER since I have updated my blog, so I will update it now while I have the time :]] Alright, so much has happened since my last post, so just to warn ya there will be a lot of pictures and I will try not to ramble :]]

As most of you know I am in the Elementary Education Program at UVU, I am a second semester junior and am proud to announce that I have received an internship for the following school year! Thats right peeps next year I will be a full time 2nd grade teacher at Butterfield Elementary, I am so stoked. As an intern I will have my own classroom (with no supervising teacher) and will receive half salary. Pretty cool right? It was a nerve racking process, I had to turn in an application and interview with Jordan School District which was pretty intimidating. A huge shout out and thank you are in order to the lovely Carolyn Hirz, my cute Gare, and my family for being so supportive and helpful :]] After I got the call that I got the internship Gare took me to celebrate to my all time fav Olive Garden.

In other big news Derek is home! He has been gone for like three months on vaca in Europe the little stinker. We were glad to have him home and to be able to spend time with him.

And now for some sad news, I crashed my cute car Bridgett :[[ I was confused getting off the freeway and didn't know where I was going and crashed into the cement barrier. I know, I know, I am an idiot :[[ good think I was the only one involved and for insurance. Bridgett is in the shop gettin fixed, I miss her dearly.

Tommy Comes to Town!

One of Garett's very best friends form the mission came to town this weekend! Tommy and his wife live in Georgia, so we were so glad to be able to get to spend some time with them.  We got together with some other boys from the mission and their wives (Tommy and Megan, Josh and Danna, Jacob and Valerie) and met up for dinner at Tucanos. I love their yummy Brazilian Lemonade! After dinner we walked around the Riverwood's and looked at all of the cute shops. Then we headed over to the Provo Beach Resort where the boys had some fun playing basketball. . . .

Once the boys had enough of shooting hoops we headed over to Jacob and Valerie's house and played this hysterical game called The Game of Things. We had so much fun, our faces hurt from laughing so much :]] And to top off the whole night we just had to get some ice cream!

Girls Trip

Last weekend we made a little girls trip up to the condo in St George! My mom and I went with our family friends Tonya, Pooney, Sharon, Lindsay, and Janet :]] We had a blast we went down to see Grease at the Tuacahn, I loved it they did such a good job with it and everyone knows I am a sucker for plays and musicals ;]] We also had a couple late nights with some fun games and movies. And thanks to my wonderful mom amazing food was provided she made us breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day she earned the name "momma Tammy" from everyone. I had so much fun it was nice getting to know these girls more and just get a way for the weekend. I even came home to a "surprise" from my sweet husband, a sewing kit from IKEA! He is so cute. Goodbye Summer

Welp it is official Garett and I are back to school and work full time, and the summer is at its end. I had a really great first week back to work, my student is doing amazing thus far! I start classes on Monday, I am gonna work super hard this semester :]] We spent this weekend with my family because my papa was in town! I also went to the pool one last time with my best friend Megan! Goodbye summer :/ I have to day that I might be looking forward to fall weather and clothes though ;]]

The Zoo

On Wednesday the gang decided to venture to the Hogle Zoo! We had fun, I haven't been to the zoo for a long time. We chose like the perfect day, it was mostly over cast all day and so nice :]] Here we are. . .

It was fun to be with the Hirzes and the Law's, especially because Deidra and David are leaving us so soon! We will miss them :[[ Some of the highlights were the elephant show, the bird show, the cool dinosaurs they have around the park, and my favorite the giraffes! The bird show was so cool! I kept thinking about my mom and how much she would be freaking out if she were there haha, and how one time we went to the zoo with my cousin Lizzy and a bird pooped on her head! Oh, and can I just say that giraffes are so strange! They look like aliens or something, but they are like so regal and majestic. They freak me out, they are so cool!

Take me out to the ball game. . .

So, my super rad grandpa's super rad friend Marc hooked us up with some Bee's tickets.  We went to three games and we even got to see fireworks at two or the games! On Friday we took Brayden and Misty, we ate at Texas Roadhouse before the game yum!

On Sunday we took Meg, Cam, Carolyn and Brent. It was super hot so we had some really yummy mint chocolate chip ice cream. The good ol' Bee's even hit a grand slam so we all took our tickets to Denney's and got a FREE grand slam breakfast! It was pretty cool, we saw fireworks this night for Pioneer day!

Then on Monday we took Carolyn, Brent and the Chases! It was a lot cooler out this time but it did rain on us for like half the game. Oh well it was an adventure, and we got to see a lovely rainbow :]] Haha so every game I have been heckling this player from the Tacoma team, Carlos Peguero. I think I was really getting to him I swear he looked at me a couple of times, so for this, the last game, we decided to make him a sign! Haha I kept asking him to show me his muscles so that's what I made the sign say. People thought I was crazy :]]

I Love Glitter!

Ok you guys I love glitter toes! I pretty much fell in love when I had mine done last year. I did not, however, fall in love with the price (like 25+). So while blog stalking I came across a couple people who do them themselves. I took some of their ideas and added some of my own, here is what I came up with. . .

I got my glitter at Hobby Lobby, that whole pack for 5 bucks! Then make sure you have a good base and top coat, I really like this gel coat I picked up at Sally's called Gelous (its the one with the green lid). Then I got to work.

1. Paint on gel coat then sprinkle on glitter. (for best results do one toe at a time).
2. You can do this once or twice depending on how much glitter you want. When you have completed one foot tap off the extra glitter you can then use an old makeup brush to sweep the rest off too.
3. Let dry for a minute then put a regular top coat over the glitter. (don't do to many gel coats it is really thick.)
4. Let dry and then wash your toes off.
5. When you are sure your toes are dry give them a good buff to make them smooth. This will also make the glitter extra sparkly after you add a top coat.
6. Once your toes are all smooth add another get coat to the top and you are done!

 I did mine and Carolyn's tonight, they are more sparkly in person it is tricky to get a good picture of glitter. Anyway, they are so cute and wont break the bank :]]

Hello Friends!

Hello! It has been such a lovely day! My amazing mom did my hair today, now it is pretty and I even got some feathers! I also have been hanging out with my love. We started to watch the Harry Potters, we want to watch them all before the midnight show! Whoo we are excited <3 HP! I also made a skirt today! I followed THIS tutorial, it turned out cute, I will post pictures of all the stuff I have been making soon :]] Then Gare and I went to dinner and to Winco and when we were walking out to our car we saw this beauty. . .

We also saw the new Transformers yesterday! I really liked it, it was way better than the second one. Gare was upset that the new chick in the movie was wearing her high heals through all of the action scenes, and that her white shirt stayed perfect the whole time haha, I didn't even notice he is a goofball :]] Anyway, it was still a good fun movie. Happy 4th of July every one! I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend! We sure did, Gare and I did some BBQing with the Hirzes and went to see the Stadium of Fire fireworks! They were awesome and we even got a whole game of Phase 10 in while we were waiting for the show! Today we had a lovely picnic in the park before Gare had to go to work. Then I headed to Salt Lake to spend the rest of the day with my family! I have also been singing "My Country Tis of Thee" the whole weekend haha!

Update!

• Garett graduates this semester and is currently on the wait list for the University of Utah MSW program! Cross your fingers he gets in :]]
• We are getting sealed in the Oqurrih Mountain Temple April 30th! I am receiving my endowments the same day.
• Gares family is coming down for both of these occasions and we are very excited to see everyone:]]
• School and work is still going great for both of us (the Jr. High kids are currently on spring break so I have a whole lovely week to sleep in and hang out with my man :]]).

Did you like my list of updates? I thought it would be easier that way haha, we have also got to spend some time with our friends and family. Mariah finally had her baby! Karston Arvin Kofoed, and he is so dang cute! Keith and Ria are already such cute parents, we have got to hang out with the new little family twice last week, here is a picture of me and the little guy. . .

On Thursday Gare and I decided to pull out the pressure cooker and whip up some beef stroganoff, which is one of Gare's all time favorites! I was supper nervous because the pressure cooker scares me to death! I have heard some crazy stories, so I stayed away from the kitchen and let Gare to the dirty work:]] It turned out amazing, we didn't have any scary explosions or anything!! We also got together with the Law's and the Hirzes on Friday, we had the famous "Chicken Broccoli Casserole" and played games :]] Its always fun to get together with those crazy kids, it is a tight squeeze in our lil' apartment though.

Busy me

It has been a while! I haven't had as much time to blog and get crafty lately because of my new job and school and such. The job is going great! I absolutely love it, I am learning so much, the teachers and administration are great, and the student I am working with is so much fun.  So that's what I have been up to lately. I have slipped in a couple crafts here and there though with Carolyn we made way cute earrings (I don't have pics sorry) and tonight we made cute keychains, tutorial found HERE! I just added a cute flower to top it all off :]]

I also made Car learn how to sew, she didn't appreciate it very much ha.

Catchin' Up

So, a lot has happened in the past couple weeks! The most important being. . . I GOT A JOB, and I LOVE it! I am a 504/Special Education Para-Educator at American Fork Jr. High. I help a student with autism in all of their classes, I love it and have already learned so so so much! Its funny though I have only been working there for 4 days and have been mistaken for a student 3 times! Oh AND, I got to watch the "Miracle of Birth" in health class ha, I thought I would NEVER have to watch that again but, I thought wrong :]] It wasn't too bad the second time around, I guess it helps that I am now 20 and not 13 anymore haha! So it will be interesting getting to sit in in all of the 8th grade classes, I will get to relearn everything.

I have also been having some fun. . . Gare and I went bowling with these punks last weekend.

Weekend Fun

This weekend was full of all things fun! Drill team, family, friends, and food :]] What could be funner? On Friday my mom and I went to the state drill team competition. It was so much fun! Of course the Minerettes looked amazing and grabbed yet another state title (congrats again girls), but it was also so much fun to catch up with my old drill girls. There is nothing better that catching up with old friends.

Then on Sunday we had a good old fashioned Superbowl party. We crammed 8 people into our tiny living room (Cam and Megan, Deidra and David, Car and Brent, and Us). Gare made yummy jalapeno poppers and potato skins and I made cake balls, can you believe it? I made something! And they were a hit haha :]] Brent and Car brought lil' weenies and spicy chicken, and Deidra and David brought tex mix and special K bars! YUM! The game was alright I was rooting for the Packers so I guess its good they won, but my favorite is definitely the commercials. My favorite was the one with the little Darth Vader haha. We had a very fun weekend.

This week. . .

Monday-Thursday
Gare and I finished our finals! AND on Thursday we got to go to the David Archuleta MoTab Christmas concert! It was lovely, we went with Brent and Carolyn, had dinner before (Gare made homemade lasagna) and dessert after (root beer floats). 


Saturday
Carolyn and I went and got pedicures :]]  Lets just say our toes look super cute, I went for the red polish with a cute white snowflake painted on. Love it! Of course the cute little Asians were doing our toes, they were fun and could speak pretty good English, however, I always feel awkward when they talk to each other in their Asian language. I am convinced they are talking about me "this white girls feet are nasty!" or something? Does anyone else feel this way?


When Gare got home from work we headed up to my parents house to make sugar cookies and have dinner with them! We made a mess making cookies but we had fun :]] I love decorating them, my dad was pretty funny and inventive when it came to the decorating part, he took a turtle dove cookie turned it sideways painted it green and added an eyeball and turned it into "the mask" haha what a goon :]] Here are some pictures of the event. . .

Happy Sunday :]]

 I have had such a great Sunday! Wonderful church meetings with my babe, got together with the Hirzes for dinner, then went to the Christmas Devotional with family and friends, walked around Temple Square to look at the pretty lights and temple. Such a good day! The fog/nasty Utah inversion made the temple look really cool and when you walked around outside you could feel ice crystals hit your face! So awesome, what a beautiful world we live in.

Shrimp

"Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it."

We went to Red Lobster with Deidra and David for an early celebration of Garett's birthday, and we all ordered all you can eat shrimp! The whole time I was eating I couldn't stop thinking about Forrest Gump haha. It was delicious and we all left with very full tummies. After dinner David and Deidra took us to Comedy Sports, we had a blast. These funny people put on a comedy improve like show, kind of like "Whos Line is it Anyway?". We laughed a lot and I even got to volunteer in one of the games.

Halloween

We had a very fun Halloween weekend. We started it off carving pumpkins with the Hirzes. We enjoy getting together with these two! Garett and Brent can be geeky nerds together and Car and I can be crazy together! It works out great :]] They came over to our place and we ate dinner, and had root beer floats (this has become somewhat of a tradition when they come over). Then we got to our pumpkins, Gare and I picked up the pumpkins earlier that day because we had to go to winco. I Picked out a cute little one and Gare decided to get three massive ones for himself, Brent, and Car. They were so heavy and dirty! We had to wash them off in our bath tub when we got them home :]] Turns out that Carolyn got the yucky pumpkin, the inside was all moldy and nasty! She made Brent clean it out for her, what a good guy. So here are our pumpkins. . .

After some fun pumpkin carving with the Hirzes, Gare and I went to THRILLER. I just love love love love it! I have been 7 years in a row and it never gets old. This year we even got to see our family member perform! Jessica Norris. . . I think she is like my cousin? Anyway, she is a great dancer and it was fun seeing her in the show she did a great job :]]


Gare and I also went to a haunted house with Megan and friends! We went to Nightmare on 13th, and it was so scary. I basically crawled through the whole thing. When something scary would jump out at me I would just instantly fall backwards. . . its a reflex? Everyone was laughing at me the whole time, but I was seriously scared! I think I was more entertainment to the group than the actual haunted house! It was so much fun though. Garett said that if a plague of zombies took over the world we wouldn't last long haha. After the haunted house we went to Megan's parents house, ate dinner and played games! We played this fun game called "Time's Up" It was very fun, but Garett was terrible at it. He has a terrible memory so we didn't make a very good team and we lost :[[

Aside from losing terribly at "Times up" I'd say we had one pretty spectacular Halloween weekend!

Summer!

I just love summer time! This year Garett and I have been so busy with school, work, and wedding planning, summertime seems to be slipping away much to quickly! Welcome to the real world I guess right! Luckily the two of us have found time to slip in some fun summer time activities. About a week ago we went to seven peaks water park, we really enjoyed the boomerang and the wave pool! The best part is we got to go for free thanks to Garetts sister Deidra who gave us her free passes! Thanks Deidra! For the 4th of July Gare and I went to the Stadium of Fire! It was so much fun! The weather was perfect, we got to celebrate Americas birthday, see Carrie Underwood, and amazing fireworks! Garettes cousins Michael and Andrew were in the show too! It was fun to see them, they got to march in with the rest of the boy scouts holding American flags. It was a very neat show, I am glad I got to experience it with my Garebear :]]

Brent's Birthday

Brent and Carolyn are some of our dearest and most treasured friends. Brent proudly turned 24 on the 23rd of June. We had the fabulous opportunity to celebrate with him. We got to eat out at Skippers and return to their apartment for games, laughter, and a Chewbacca cake. Carolyn made the most amazing cake! It was all around a wonderful time. Happy birthday, Brent! We are sure lucky to have friends like the Hirzes.
